Sallent, Bages
Sallent has always been a town rich in institutions and associations of all kinds, cultural, religious, sporting or recreational purposes. The celebrations, the social life, landscape and heritage have been recorded in the collective memory for many photographers, both professionals and amateurs. Among the pioneers we emphasize Sebastian Llenas (1891-1936), photographer and tobacconist, who has retained part of his important graphic testimony of the first third of the 20th century. The photographs included in this section and which the library of Sallent had been collecting throughout its history show a town, from 1886 to 1990, that had been growing and changing, but that has maintained its own identity, for instance the images of the representative celebrations like the Enramades or the Carnival.
